Italian Art Capitals

Our tour of Italy’s Art Capitals is the type of trip that we would do ourselves if we wanted to visit each of these cities for the first time and/or if you’re returning and want to get the most out of them. In Rome we include the Vatican and Ancient Rome, in Florence we visit the wineries of Chianti and the famous Uffizi gallery in addition to doing a cooking course and market tour with our famous Florentine chef Giovanni. In Venice we have included a walking tour with a local guide that will allow you to understand the fantastic history of this island city. Throughout the tour we have you staying in quaint and elegant boutique style hotels that are centrally located, each of which serve a delicious buffet breakfast.On both your arrival and departure days we will arrange complimentary private transfers to and from the airport.

Day 1 Benvenuti in Italia e la Citta' di Roma! Welcome to Italy and the city of Rome!

    Upon arrival at the airport or train station we will meet you and deliver you to your centrally located hotel in the eternal city.

Day 2 The Roman Forum and Colosseum

Day 3 Prestige Tour of Vatican City
  • Description:

    Activity: Prestige Tour of Vatican City Including St. Peter's Basilica After crossing the park of Villa Borghese we reach the Vatican City, the smallest independent sovereign state in the world. In the Vatican Museum, you'll be shown a fine collection of antiquities, including the Sculpture Museum, the fascinating Tapestry Gallery, the Gallery of Maps and the world famous Sistine Chapel decorated by Michelangelo. The tour will then proceed to the Basilica of St. Peter, where you will see the art treasures of the largest Roman Catholic Church in the world, including Michelangelo's Pieta'. Day 4 Train: Rome - Florence

    After a delicious buffet breakfast at your hotel, you will head to Roma Termini station to board your train to Florence. Upon arrival at the Florence train station you will taxi to your hotel in central Florence where you will spend the next 4 nights of your stay in Tuscany.

Day 5 Walking tour of Florence including the Uffizi Gallery

    Small Group Walking tour of Florence Including the Uffizi Gallery This afternoon you will make your own way to the predetermined meeting point in central Florence where you will begin your half-day Walking Tour with Uffizi Gallery. After a brief orientation with your tour guide you will commence with a pleasant walk through the most fascinating and interesting places of Florence including the Cathedral with Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Baptistery with its famous Gates of Paradise, Signoria Square with its Palazzo Vecchio and Loggia dei Lanzi. We will conclude the tour discovering Uffizi Gallery with its famous collections of Italian Renaissance paintings. The tour will finish enjoying a beautiful view of Florence, from Uffizi terrace. It is possible to remain into the museum until closing time

Day 6 Cooking Course and Market Tour in Florence

    Activity: Cooking and Market Tour with Chef Giovanni For wine and food lovers alike, no doubt this will be a highlight of your stay in Florence, touring the local markets with our chef Giovanni and cooking and eating a full Tuscan meal complete with wine, you will have a new appreciation for Florentine cuisine after today's tour.

Day 7 Tour of the Chianti Wine Territory

    Activity: A Day in Chianti: Siena, San Gimignano & Monteriggioni Experience with this tour a wonderful day in the Tuscan countryside, admiring the most suggestive corners of Siena and San Gimignano and try with us the unique flavor of local wines. Departing from Florence, our first stop is San Gimignano, one of the most fascinating examples of medieval Tuscan towns, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. In San Gimignano you will have free time to discover the beautiful squares, buildings, churches and suggestive alleyways and to shop. Following San Gimignano, we head to Siena and travel through some of the most beautiful Tuscan landscapes and stop in a farm house, where you will be able to taste some excellent Chianti Classico wines that will be accompanied by cheese, bruschettas, salami and Tuscan sausage. Following our wine tasting, we will continue to Siena, where, after free time for lunch (excluded) and shopping, our local and expert guide will lead you through its steep medieval streets, admiring the splendid palaces until we will reach the Cathedral (interior), Palazzo Comunale (Municipal Building) and Piazza del Campo where the Palio race take place every year. On our return to Florence, we head through some beautiful territory and stop at the fortress town of Montereggioni, one of the oldest hamlets in Tuscany.

Day 8 Walking Tour of Venice

An essential tour for the understanding of Venice! Route: Piazza San Marco,Origins, history and description of the main monuments: Basilica San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Bell Tower, clock Tower and Procuratie.Santa Maria Formosa -History and anecdotes related to this wonderful and characteristic square. Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo,the Pantheon of Venice, the great School of Charity, the Captains of Fortune.Marco Polo's House and Malibran Theatre, anecdotes and past and recent history cross each other in this beautiful corner of Venice. Return to San Marco through the Mercerie, vital connection between Rialto and San Marco and the main street for the city shopping.
